Volunteering at Kaiga Convention is a fantastic opportunity to be part of our event while still having ample time to enjoy all the festivities. We value our volunteers and understand their desire to experience specific performances, competitions, and scheduled activities. With flexible shift options, you can contribute your time and skills while ensuring you don't miss out on the highlights of the convention.
As a token of our appreciation, all volunteers will receive exclusive benefits, including a three-day premium pass, granting access to the event throughout the entire weekend, including our Friday Opening Night. In addition, you'll receive a stylish Ita Bag in the colour of your choice, perfect for showcasing your fandom treasures! As well as all the other freebies that come with our tickets in the year you are volunteering for.

What sort of jobs do volunteers have?
EVENT SET UP & PACK DOWN
Assist in setting up event spaces, arranging booths, tables, chairs, and decorations before the event begins.
HELP DESK
Help attendees to find their way around, understand maps, and answer general questions about the event.
CROWD MANAGEMENT
Maintain order and manage crowd flow, ensuring smooth entry and exit, and organizing queues.
ACCESSIBILITY SUPPORT
Provide guidance, accessibility information, and ensuring an inclusive and welcoming experience for all.
STAGE SUPPORT
Help to usher the Cosplay Parade at the stage, and any other tasks delegated by our Stage Director.
COSPLAY CHECKPOINT
Help people to sign up for the Cosplay Parade, Check in for the Tournament, and perform weapons checks!
RUNNING ACTIVITIES
Supervise the running of activities and help attendees complete them! Ensure that activity areas remain safe and tidy.
HELPING THE COMMUNITY
Being a pillar of communication between attendees and our event, that way we can ensure feedback is received!
What don't volunteers do?
REGISTRATION & TICKETING
As of 2023 we are out-sourcing our front desk responsibilities to companies or hiring staff internally to complete this role.
EVENT ORGANISATION
Volunteers do not have committee roles or any hand in organising the event itself, you can leave the hard work to the rest of us!
ONGOING EMPLOYMENT
A volunteer's job is done when their shift ends! They have no ongoing obligations or committments to our event.
PAID WORK
Volunteers are not compensated in any way financially, although we do appreciate all their unpaid work - learn more below!
Is it worthwhile?
We will let you decide that one! Volunteers are only required to complete limited shifts, therefore they still have plenty of time to enjoy the event, we will also be considerate of their other needs like wanting to attend certain performances, competitions and scheduled activities.
